Awakening
In the depth of night
What was once steadfast belief
Proves to be utter falsehood
You jolt awake
In broad daylight
What seemed eternal truth
Was but illusory fabrication
You'd rather not awaken
—— We exhaust a lifetime in the pursuit of awakening, only to find the universe hanging a sign at the end that reads: "Sorry, there is nothing here."
True awakening is not merely about seeing the light; it is about having the courage to gaze directly into the void within that light. Light is no longer salvation, but a vessel, holding the emptiness that must be squarely faced. Emptiness itself is not terrifying; the true terror lies in our refusal to gaze directly at it.
