    Humans and Their Assumptions

All history is a kind of lie;

lies, in the end, become history.

Hamsters on the wheel —

and humans, with their assumptions.

        —— In my childhood essay writing, I always loved to talk about the "wheel of history." Only now do I realize it's more like a hamster wheel—just running hard in place.
