Fallen leaves sublimate upon the branches
dancing wildly in the northeast monsoon
Silence swallows the morning light
Childhood writes in blankness
yearning for the purity and defiance
that resist time
Fading melodies linger without leaving
a dirge, mixed from memory, walks slowly on
Those phantom futures already become history
sleep through the compromises of night
Let us raise a toast
to a cup of utterly tasteless coffee
