一、「質數的自我定義」不是題目，而是命題
「質數的自我定義」本身就是詩的第一句，而不是一般意義上的標題。
質數通常由外部規則定義：大於 1，且只能被 1 與自身整除的自然數。
但詩刻意拒絕這種外部定義，而讓質數自己說話：
質數的自我定義：你活著。
這使數學上的「客觀定義」轉換成存在論上的「自我定義」。質數不只是被數學家定義的一個數學對象，而成為一個具有自身存在性的「你」。
因此第一句其實提出了一個哲學問題：
如果一個質數可以自己定義自己，它會說什麼？

螺旋是一個具有強烈幾何意味的意象。它向外展開，看似前進，卻可能不斷重現自身的結構。
因此它可以象徵一種以重複產生秩序的宇宙模型。
然而質數拒絕這種簡單重複。

或：

質數在自然數序列中各自佔據不可約的位置。
因此，「拒絕簡單的螺旋重復」也可以理解成：
質數拒絕以週期性的重複來定義自己。

The opening line of the poem is:
The Self-Definition of a Prime Number
It is not merely a title. The English title Prime Self is a condensation of this proposition.
1. “The Self-Definition of a Prime Number” Is a Proposition, Not Merely a Title
A prime number is conventionally defined from the outside as a natural number greater than 1 that has exactly two positive divisors: 1 and itself.
But the poem deliberately refuses this external definition and allows the prime number to speak for itself:
The self-definition of a prime number: You are alive.
The mathematical definition of an object is therefore transformed into an ontological definition of existence.
The prime number is no longer merely an object defined by mathematics. It becomes a “you,” an existence possessing its own identity.
The opening proposition therefore asks a philosophical question:
If a prime number could define itself, what would it say?
Its answer is not:
“I can only be divided by 1 and myself.”
It is:
You are alive.
At this point, mathematics opens into the questions of life and consciousness.
2. “You Are Alive” as the First Principle of Prime Existence

At the same time, “guess” becomes a metaphor for the formation of a self. Life does not know exactly where its next step will occur, just as the next prime cannot be determined by a simple cycle.
Freedom here does not mean the absence of order. It means openness within order.
5. “Refusing the Simple Repetition of the Spiral” Is Where the Self Truly Emerges
The spiral is a strongly geometric image. It expands outward and appears to move forward, while continually reproducing aspects of its own structure.
It can therefore symbolize a universe in which order is generated through repetition.
But the prime refuses such simple repetition.

Each prime occupies its own irreducible position within the natural numbers.
Thus “refusing the simple repetition of the spiral” can also be understood as:

Consciousness has captured one frame within the flow of time.
