在荒原中席地而坐

大象席地而坐
世界不理他他也不理這個世界
荒原之上幻影著美麗的人數之町
來了又離開了誰是我
離開了又回來了我是誰
但是大象席地而坐
他不理這個世界世界也不理他
只是隨風飄蕩的遊絲微塵吧
我在許多之中
許多之中沒有我

離開文明的人數之町以後,你也許將是靈魂荒原中一隻席地而坐孤獨自在的大象。

​         An Elephant Sitting Still
​The world ignores him, and he ignores the world
Upon the wasteland, a phantom of the beautiful Town of Headcounts
Came and left, who is the one called me?
Left and returned, who am I?
But the elephant sits on the ground
He ignores this world, the world ignores him
Just gossamer and fine dust drifting with the wind, perhaps
I am among the many
Among the many, there is no me

     —— The Town of Headcounts (2020) by Shinji Araki; An Elephant Sitting Still by Hu Bo, which premiered at the 2018 Berlin International Film Festival, won Best Feature Film at the Taiwan Golden Horse Awards, and was released early the following year.
​Art is the truest prophecy; it portrays the elusive predicaments and hopes of the immediate present, gazing deeply into human destiny. ​After departing from the civilized Town of Headcounts, you may become an elephant sitting still in the spiritual wasteland, solitary and free.
