The Linguistics of a Summer Morning
The summer mountain, a yellow butterfly flying away
The chinaberry ponders
the sky swaying
At the edge of the universe
searching for news of the cicadas
History and its jokes
come all the way here
Opening the door
to welcome the morning breeze
is purely politically correct
Structures destined to collapse
have always come from
the boredom of worship
Devotion
is a beautiful linguistics
No one understands
that a black hole’s withdrawal
is a kind of true love
— In the linguistics of a summer morning,
the cicada songs exiled upon the surface of the black hole
finally pass along the news.
History and its jokes
are on their way
to realizing the yet-to-be-realized journey
of having come all this way.
